Relationship & Couples Support
Mending the Frayed Threads and Re-Authoring Your Partnership
When a relationship begins to fray, it rarely happens overnight. It usually starts with small, silent shifts: a conversation left unfinished, a bid for connection that went unnoticed, or an external stressor—like a new parenting stage, a career crisis, or a chronic illness diagnosis—that slowly pushes you into separate corners.
Suddenly, you look across the room and feel like you are living with a roommate instead of a partner. The same repetitive arguments play out over and over like a broken record, leaving you both feeling exhausted, unseen, and deeply disconnected.
Whether your partnership has experienced a massive breach of trust or is simply buckling under the weight of a heavy life transition, couples therapy isn't about deciding who is "right." It is about discovering the hidden emotional cycle that is pulling you apart, and learning how to team up to defeat it.
The Method: How We Heal
Our approach to couples work is collaborative, structured, and focused entirely on rebuilding a safe emotional harbor where both partners feel heard.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): We map the repetitive "dance" of conflict that keeps you stuck. By identifying the deeper fears and needs driving the arguments, we help you shift from defensive reactions to vulnerable, soft connections.
Navigating Shared Transitions: We specialize in helping couples adapt when external life changes threaten the relationship, providing a dedicated space to process the impact of medical trauma, caregiving burnout, or midlife identity shifts together.
Practical, In-Office & At-Home Sessions: To accommodate demanding schedules and varying energy levels, I offer in-person couples sessions at my Raintree Lane office in Charlotte, as well as highly secure virtual couples therapy across NC, SC, and FL.
